Key Points: Pop Art is a modern art movement characterized by bold colors, simple shapes, and imagery from popular culture Artists like Andy Warhol and Roy Lichtenstein are famous Pop Art figures Color mixing with crayons can create new hues and add depth to artwork Simple shapes can be combined to create complex forms Creativity in art involves personal expression and unique interpretations of subjects.

Introduce the project: creating Pop Art-inspired pumpkins using simple shapes and bold colors.

Guided Practice: Distribute paper, crayons, and painting supplies Guide students through the process of sketching a pumpkin using simple shapes Demonstrate color mixing techniques and have students practice on scrap paper Encourage students to experiment with different color combinations Monitor progress and provide individual assistance as needed.

Independent Practice: Students will create their own Pop Art pumpkin artwork Remind students to incorporate at least one Pop Art characteristic Encourage creativity in color choices and pumpkin designs Circulate the room to offer guidance and feedback.

Closing: Gallery walk: Students display their artworks and briefly explain their color choices and Pop Art elements to a partner Class discussion: What was challenging about this project? How did using simple shapes help in creating the pumpkin?

Extension Activity: Create a series of Pop Art pumpkins in different colors or styles, exploring how changing colors or adding patterns can affect the overall look of the artwork.
